Commissioned by the Metropolitan Opera New York, we produced the concert series "The Met Stars Live in Concert" together with Leonine and Odeon. The series of 12 concerts began in July 2020 with Jonas Kaufmann performing live from Kloster Polling.
The concerts were recorded with multiple cameras, with the footage sent via satellite to New York, where it was edited by Gary Halvorson, the award-winning director of the "Met: Live in HD" series. The host was American soprano Christine Goerke.
The live concerts showcased not only the artists' performances, but also the architectural character of each extraordinary venue.
These ranged from a terrace overlooking the Mediterranean in Èze, to a castle in Oslo, palaces in Vienna and Malta, a historic villa in Washington, D.C., and churches in Barcelona and Wales.
A production spanning three continents, twelve concerts and one goal: world-class opera for everyone who loves it – wherever they are.
